Reprieve for city boda bodas as NMS to issue new rules

Boda boda operators in Nairobi can now breathe a sigh of relief after they were issued with operational guidelines by the National Metropolitan Services (NMS).

The operators will now have definite routes to ply, will have an office and have also been allocated parking space at the newly constructed Greenpark Terminal.

The announcement was made on Wednesday during the launch of a sacco for bodaboda operators known as Eminent Boda Transcoop.

NMS Director of Roads, Transport and Public Works at the NMS Engineer Michael Ochieng launched the sacco. However, Ochieng said the finer details will be known in due course.

NMS and the bodaboda were working on a memorandum that will allow the operators to provide last-mile transport to Kenyans who are accessing the CBD after alighting from matatus at the terminal.
