Twenty-one people have succumbed to the coronavirus, according to the latest statistics from the Health Ministry.

“All are late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in May, August, and September,” Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe (pictured) said.

The cumulative fatalities are now 4,778.

On Saturday, some 840 people have also tested positive for Covid-19, from 8,129 samples conducted in the last 24 hours.

The country’s positivity rate is now 10.3 per cent.

Total infections are 239,692 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 2,406,052.

Another 1,237 patients have recovered from the disease, “with 1,104 being from the Home-based Isolation and Care program while one hundred and thirty-three are from various health facilities countrywide,” the CS added.

Total recoveries now stand at 227,274’

Kagwe added: 1,863 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 4,937 are under the Home-based Isolation and Care program.”

One hundred and forty-seven patients are in the ICU, and sixty-seven in High Dependency Units (HDU).

On vaccination, Kenya has administered 2,854,662 vaccines so far.

Only 2.98 per cent of the adult population is fully vaccinated
