Manchester United are planning to sell Luke Shaw this summer, according to reports.

The Independent say Jose Mourinho has run out of patience with the left-back's lack of development during his time at the club.

Shaw, 21, hasn't played in the Premier League since October, with injuries and poor form restricting his opportunities.

Tottenham's 26-year-old defender Danny Rose, who has been superb this season, has been earmarked as a possible replacement for Shaw.

£70m Monaco star eyed

Manchester United have been linked with a £70million move for Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva.

Jose Mourinho has identified the Portuguese playmaker as one of his chief summer targets, but will face opposition from Real Madrid to land the 22-year-old, report The Sun.

Silva is considered one of the brightest rising stars in European football.

With the Red Devils also linked with a move for Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, Mourinho is looking to retool his attack next season.

Memphis Depay's Manchester United nightmare will end with a £17million switch to Lyon, writes Darren Lewis.

The troubled winger, 22, will sign a four-and-a-half year deal which will tie him to the French club until the summer of 2021.

He cost United up to £31m when they signed him from PSV in May 2015, though that figure is understood to have included several add-ons which were not met as the player proved a major disappointment.

United have a buy-back clause but if Lyon qualify for the Champions League and other landmarks are reached the fee would rise to over £22m.

Depay has been out in the cold under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, appearing in only one EPL Cup tie this season.

Mourinho to give Shaw a second chance

The 21-year-old, who returned in September after 10 months out following a horror broken leg, has seen his playing time restricted this term.

Shaw has not featured since limping off at half-time during the EFL Cup quarter-final against West Ham seven weeks ago.

A hamstring problem continued to prove troublesome into the New Year but the England international has been training since the start of last week.

Mourinho chose not to select him for the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final against Hull or in Sunday's league clash with Liverpool.

But it is understood Mourinho is ready to give Shaw a chance to prove himself over the coming games.
