Temba wins Corporate Masters Golf Series at Royal

With a total of 69 nett, handicap 14 Paul Temba emerged the overall winner of the seventh edition of Masters Golf Series played in a stroke play format at Royal Golf Club at the weekend.

Temba beat his closest challenger Joseah Kago on count back after tying on the same points to pick the top prize.

He beat over 200 golfers who attended the final series of event that saw Kago win the men's title subjecting Simon Manambo to the third position.

"It was tough but I was equal to the task to win the top prize after beating a stiff challenge from some experienced opponents," said Temba after he picked his prize from Corporate Masters Managing Director Michael Ng'ang'a.

Ng'ang'a said they were happy to have been associated with one of the best golf clubs in Kenya and hopes to do so next season.

On the teams' performance, Innovus Team was the best team ahead of Nyota and IPDC.

Handicap 23 Martha Mbote who posted 63 nett won the ladies' title ahead of Mary Cox who finished runners up at 72nett.

By winning the Gross-play, handicap 3 Kevin Juma did it in style with a total of 75 gross.

After scooping 71 nett and 72 nett, Brian Gachuba and volleyballer Njeri Onyango won the Division 4 and Senior Winners category respectively.

Onyango later proved her mettle when she won the ladies' longest drive with Njogu Kungu winning the men's title. [Ben Ahenda]
