Kisumu All Stars are seeking to reduce the gap between them and leaders FC Talanta to within three points when they travel to play relegation threatened Mt Kenya United at Camp Toyoyo in the mid-week National Super League (NSL) on Wednesday.

All Stars are currently third in the standings with 34 points, seven points behind Talanta and four points within second placed Kenya Police.

A win over Mt Kenya will increase the Lakeside team’s chances of qualifying for the Football Kenya Federation Premier League next season.

All Stars captain Bobby Kwaka said they are keen to build on their winning momentum after thrashing Modern Coast Rangers 3-0 last weekend in Kisumu.

“The boys are charged up and raring to go after the massive win last time out and we can’t wait to play. Away matches have proven tricky at times but we are ready to fight as we continue pushing towards our goal of earning promotion back to the top league,” Kwaka told The Standard Sports.

In Mombasa, Migori Youth will be hoping to return to winning ways when they travel to face a wounded Modern Coast Rangers at Serani Grounds.

Migori were denied a 2-1 win against FC Talanta last weekend after their late goal was disallowed forcing them to share the spoils with the league leaders in a match played in Migori.

In the Lakeside City, Kisumu Hot Stars FC will hope to end their poor run when they host Kenya Police FC at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Coast Stima will be seeking to bounce back to winning ways when they take on visiting Vihiga Bullets at Mbaraki from 1pm.

Stima is currently languishing at position 17 in the league table with 25 points.

League leaders Talanta, under the tutelage of Ken Kenyatta, will be seeking to collect maximum points against Mully Children’s Family (MCF) at Ruaraka in a morning kick-off to maintain their place at the top.

Kibera Black Stars, coached by Elvis Ayany, face Nairobi Stima at Camp Toyoyo.
