Harry Kane has reportedly told Tottenham that he wants to leave this summer in a huge blow to the club.

The England striker has had another sensational personal season, but despite his heroics Spurs have continued to struggle, and look set to miss out on Champions League football for the second campaign in a row.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to the likes of Manchester United or Manchester City in recent weeks.

And according to Sky Sports, the player has now made it clear to his boyhood team that he wishes to move on.

They also claim that Spurs have already begun making enquiries about replacements for Kane, suggesting that they may be resigned to his departure.

Kane is currently the joint-top scorer in the Premier League with 22 goals, and amazingly he is also top of the list for assists, with 13.

He is also the seventh all-time scorer in the division's history, and it is believed for that reason he would prefer to stay in England as he looks to eventually overtake Alan Shearer at the top of the list.

It is thought that Kane would prefer his future to be sorted before this summer's European Championships and is keeping an open mind to any possibilities.

If he does leave it would be another bitter blow for Spurs owner Daniel Levy, who is already coming under fire from the club's fans following the unsuccessful attempt to take them into a European Super League.

The loss of the talismanic Kane would be devastating for supporters, and they would no doubt react angrily towards the owner.

With Kane's contract running until the summer of 2024 he would not come cheap, and any team interested in his services would likely have to spend close to £100m.

But that would come as no consolation to Spurs, who could find themselves in deep trouble without their star forward.
