Luke Shaw will be rewarded for his excellent season with a new contract at Manchester United, according to reports.

The left-back has racked up 40 appearances in all competitions and has been a standout performer in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

Though he has two years remaining on his current deal - which is worth £150,000 per week - Old Trafford chiefs are keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal with improved terms.

Shaw, 25, will be offered a contract which runs until the end of the 2025/26 campaign worth £190,000 per week - marking a sizeable increase on his current salary.

That's according to the Daily Star, which adds Alex Telles is unhappy with his lack of opportunities in Solskjaer's side and may look for a summer exit.

Many expected the Brazilian would share minutes with Shaw after he arrived from Porto in a deal worth a total of £15.4million last year.

But Shaw's impressive form means Telles has had to settle for just six starts in the Premier League.

This is a blow for Telles' hopes of building on his four caps for Brazil, whereas Shaw is set for an important role at the Euros with England this summer.

The former Southampton man was recalled to Gareth Southgate's squad last month and made his ninth appearance for his country, three years on from when he last featured for the Three Lions.

Shaw left the Saints to join the Red Devils for an initial £27million in 2014, making him one of the most expensive teenagers in history.

He has gone on to make 179 appearances for United, winning the Europa League in 2017.

Shaw will hope for more success in that competition this season, with Solskjaer's side set to face Roma in the first leg of their semi-final on Thursday.
