Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick looks set to take over as manager of Germany once Joachim Low steps down after this summer's European Championships.

And it could spell bad news for Tottenham in their reported pursuit of RB Leipzig's Julian Nagelsmann.

Flick has had a hugely successful spell in Munich since taking over in 2019, guiding his side to six trophies including the Bundesliga and Champions League last season.

It is alleged he has been made the No.1 choice by Germany to replace Low, who announced in March that he would finally leave his post at the national team after nearly 15 years in charge.

And Norwegian journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft tweeted on Thursday: "All signs from Munich tell me that Hans Flick will be the next German National Coach.

"I have been wrong a couple times in my life.... but I don't think I will be wrong here. Bayern got to find a new coach."

If this is indeed true, it means Bayern could well turn their attentions to Nagelsmann as Flick's replacement following his impressive few years at their Bundesliga rivals.

Spurs are thought to be monitoring the 33-year-old closely, with Jose Mourinho's future far from certain following their hugely disappointing campaign.

But it seems likely Nagelsmann would favour a move to Bayern if he is offered the opportunity, and it would leave Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in a difficult position.

Spurs dropped further points in the race to finish in the top four as they drew 2-2 with struggling Newcastle at the weekend, and it is believed Mourinho will face the sack in the summer if things don't improve rapidly.

And the next few weeks could prove crucial, with tricky-looking games against Manchester United and Everton in the Premier League followed by a Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.
