Transfer Deadline Day 2021: Costa 'offered Premier League return'

Hopes of Premier League return for Diego Costa fading over striker's demands

An unnamed Premier League club have reportedly offered Diego Costa the chance of another shot at English football.

The former Chelsea striker is a free agent after being released by Atletico Madrid.

And according to Sky Sports the 32-year-old is considering a number of offers, one of which has come from a team in England’s top tier.

Costa joined Chelsea, with whom he won two Premier League titles, for £34million from Atletico in 2014.

He returned on January 1, 2018 for £54m, having agreed the move several months earlier following his infamous bust-up with his Blues boss Antonio Conte.

His contract with Atletico was due to expire this summer, mean he was free to talk to other clubs this month.

But the La Liga side agreed to terminate his contract six months early after he told them he wanted to leave citing ‘personal reasons’.
