Western Stima head coach Paul Ogai is upbeat his side will shrug off their poor form and collect all three points when they visit Afraha Stadium on Sunday to play league leaders KCB.
Speaking to the Standard Sports, Ogai who saw his side lose 3-1 to defending champions Gor Mahia earlier this week in at Moi Stadium in Kisumu said he is banking on their impressive away form to end their five-match winless run.
“We played really well against AFC Leopards and got away with three points and nothing is stopping us against KCB. If we play our cards write, be clinical and defend well, I believe we can end our winless run and start the season afresh after mixed results,” said the former Coast Stima tactician
The power men beat AFC Leopards 2-0 at Kasarani on December 23 and have not won any match since then.
Stima are currently hanging in the relegation zone, ranked 16th in the log with five points from eight matches played.
In Kakamega, Kakamega Homeboyz who welcomed back four players from injury will also be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they host newbies Bidco United at Bukhungu Stadium.
Both teams lost their last matches, with Homeboyz losing 4-3 to Bandari and Bidco going down 3-1 against Wazito last weekend.
In Nairobi, AFC Leopards will be hoping to continue their good form against top sides when they visit the high flying Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani Annex.
Ingwe put up a spirited fight last weekend to stun league leaders KCB 2-1 after previously losing to Wazito and Western Stima respectively and the Anthony Kimani will be looking forward to registering their fifth win of the season and hope to move up the table.
However, Kariobangi Sharks, are still unbeaten in the league and fourth on the log with 15 points.
Sharks thrashed record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia earlier this month before repeating the same to former champions Tusker last weekend in seven and six-goal thriller matches respectively.
