Wazito rallied from a goal down to beat Nzoia Sugar 2-1 as Mathare United held Bandari to a barren draw in today's afternoon FKF Premier League matches at Kasarani Stadium.
The victory at Kasarani Annex saw Francis Kimanzi’s men go level on 17 points with second-placed Tusker as the millers remained 11th on the table standings with eight points.
Bandari moved into the fifth spot following the stalemate at Kasarani main stadium, while Mathare are still second from the bottom with four points from four matches.
Eric Otieno had given Nzoia an early lead in the ninth minute only for Kevin Kimani to cancel it out from the spot in the 56th minute before Whvonne Isuza snatched the fourth consecutive win for Wazito with a cheeky strike in the 71st minute.
Round nine continues tomorrow with four matches on the card.
Second-placed Tusker will be seeking to leapfrog KCB at the top when they travel to Kericho to tackle Zoo as Sofapaka aim to bounce back against Nairobi City Stars in Wundanyi.
Robert Matano's men trounced Kariobangi Sharks 4-2 last weekend to end their seven-game unbeaten streak and take their points tally to 17, one shy of KCB whose unbeaten run was also broken by AFC Leopards (2-1).
