Defending champions Gor Mahia will have to wait longer to launch their Premier League title defense.

This is after their midweek Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League match against Ulinzi Stars was postponed to Saturday, December 12.

Gor Mahia has not played a single match in the 2020-2021 FKF Premier League after being away on continental duties where they eliminated Rwanda’s APR 4-3 on aggregate to book a first round tie against CR Belouizdad of Algeria in the Caf Champions League.

Speaking to Standard Sports, Gor Team Manager confirmed that their Wednesday match against Ulinzi Stars is off as per communication from the federation.

“We were looking forward to the midweek match but received communication the match will be carried forward. It’s good for us considering our heavy continental duties as our players will be more ready for the weekend game,” he said.

In the new fixtures, Gor will now start their season with a match against champions Gor Mahia at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.

The match will kick-off at 3 pm and will also be live on television.

In the revised fixtures, Nairobi City Stars will take on Bandari at Kasarani on ‘Friday, while on Saturday, Western Stima will welcome Tusker in Kisumu, Gor Mahia host Ulinzi Stars, and Kariobangi Sharks battle Bidco United at Utalii Grounds.

On Sunday, KCB will take on Kakamega Homeboyz, Vihiga United battle Nzoia Sugar, AFC Leopards entertain Sofapaka while Posta Rangers will come up against Wazito FC.

Elsewhere, Mathare United and Zoo FC have not been included in the latest fixtures released by the federation.

The two teams were poised to play on Wednesday alongside Gor Mahia but will not be in action over the weekend.

The two clubs are yet to endorse the StarTimes broadcast deal with FKF.
