FIFA will subsidise Joe Gomez's £80,000-a-week (approx. Sh11.5 million) wages after he was injured while on international duty.
The Liverpool defender suffered the blow during training having joined up with the Three Lions squad.
And football's governing body will pay the Reds £2m to cover his salary amid fears Gomez could be out for the season.
Jurgen Klopp is already dealing with a hefty injury list that includes star defender Virgil van Dijk.

It covers injuries sustained by players in all A matches, friendlies and training sessions.
Gomez was injured in England's final training session before they beat the Republic of Ireland 3-0.
FIFA will calculate the compensation on a pro rata basis until the defender is able to return to training.
The maximum cover under the scheme is £6.75m covering 365 days, calculated at a maximum pro rata daily rate of £18,430.
Despite Liverpool claiming a hefty insurance package it will come as no solace to Klopp.
England boss Gareth Southgate eluded to the nature of the convbersation he had with the Liverpool boss.
“I had a long chat with Jurgen last night, we’re all worried about player welfare,” Southgate said on Thursday.
“I said to him, ‘there needs to be a look at the calendar’. We’ve fortunate in that we’ve got the six subs tonight – and five for the Nations League games. We’ve got to try and lessen the load as much as we can for the players.”
The German has already had to hand opportunities to young duo Rhys Williams and Nathaniel Phillips given his lack of options.
And Gomez's injury means he will now have to negotiate 11 games with one fit centre-half - Joel Matip - before the January transfer window opens.
Despite their injury issues the Reds have started the defence of their title well, winning five of their opening eight games.
