Ander Herrera, six other PSG players could miss Man United clash

Last season’s Champions League finalists Paris St Germain (PSG) could be missing up to seven players when they face Manchester United in their UEFA Champions League opener on Tuesday, October 20.

According to PSG coach Thomas Tuchel, Ander Herrera, Julian Draxler, Marquinhos, Marco Veratti, Thilo Kehrer, Mauro Icardi, Juan Bernat and Danilo Pereira are all unavailable for their Ligue 1 clash against Nimes on Friday, October 16.

Herrera, a Man united player until 2019 has tested positive for the coronavirus and will have to self-isolate according to government covid-19 protocols.

Draxler, Verratti and Marquinhos came back from international selection with injuries and have been sidelined while Danilo is staying away from the squad, having been in contact with Portugal teammate Cristiano Ronaldo who contracted the virus. Bernat, Kehrer and Icardi are all injured as well.

“We have a lot of absentees tomorrow. Draxler, Verratti and Marquinhos came back injured from selection. Kurzawa and Di Maria are suspended. Ander Herrera tested positive for the virus, and he did not train with us. Danilo is due to join us today but he has been in contact with Cristiano Ronaldo and he has to stay away from the squad. Dagba did a new test, we'll see if it's negative. Bernat is injured of course, Kehrer too and Icardi injured his knee last week, he is forfeited for tomorrow, " said Tuchel on the PSG website.

Manchester United travel to Paris on the 20th of October to face 2019/20 UEFA Champions League finalists Paris St Germain.
