Man City star Sergio Aguero has given an insight into Lionel Messi's character after leaking a Whatsapp audio message from the Barcelona captain live on YouTube.

Aguero was invited as a guest on to the show of Ibai Llanos - a popular eSports gamer who boasts over 1.6million followers on Twitter.

Llanos has already had the good fortune of meeting Messi previously, but awkwardly left the forward on his own on stage after reacting nervously to the encounter.

He was introduced to Messi at an Adidas event last year, but forgot he was supposed to stay on stage with him, instead walking off immediately after they had their photo taken together.

At the time, Llanos was beside himself with embarrassment, writing on Twitter after the incident: "I don't know what the hell I've done that seems to ignore him when I greet him because of the shame he was giving me, I'm freaking out Messi thought he [I] was drunk."

But discussing the moment with Messi's Argentine teammate Aguero, Llanos was soon afforded forgiveness.

Messi contacted Aguero while he was on the show to reassure Llanos there was no issue.

The City striker played back the message to Llanos live on air.

Messi said (via Mundo Deportivo ): "Kun [Aguero], I'm looking at you that you're there with Ibai, tell him that everything is fine, that nothing happens.

"He left me paying, he left me badly in front of everyone but nothing happened."

It was only a small gesture from Messi to address Llanos' concerns, but it went a long way.

Llanos posted the clip straight onto his Twitter account, and wrote: "Today I was live talking to Kun about the greeting I made to Messi.

"And while we were talking Messi sends a voice note to Kun's Whatsapp to send me a message.

"How about your day?"
