Eid al-Fitr! Sports stars across the world celebrate end of Ramadan

FOOTBALL By Odero Charles | May 24th 2020
Eid al-Fitr means 'festival of the breaking of the fast' and it is one of the biggest celebrations in the Islamic year.

Millions of Muslims around the world  are today celebrating Eid al-Fitr to mark the end of Ramadan amid concerns over the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Restrictions on movement to curb the spread of COVID-19 have led to muted festivities across the continent with none of the usual crowded streets, or malls packed with last-minute shoppers.

In celebrating the Islamic holiday, Sports stars took have also taken to social media to share their best wishes with the world's Muslim population.

Napoli center-back Kalidou Koulibaly, Liverpool's Sadio Mane, Barcelona's Asisat Oshoala, and Schalke 04's Amine Harit were among the first to share pictures and messages.
