Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fluffed a last-minute penalty to deny Arsenal victory in the North London Derby.

He could not replicate what Harry Kane did 15 minutes earlier, with the England striker's spot kick rescuing a point for Tottenham .

Tottenham hero Kane fired home after 74 minutes but only after TV replays showed he was offside when pushed in the back by Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi.

That stopped Arsenal gaining a win at Wembley after Aaron Ramsey put the visitors ahead in the 16th minute but the Gunners could not hold on to narrow the gap on their North London rivals.

Arsenal's misery was compounded when Lucas Torreira was sent off in stoppage time for a late challenge on Danny Rose.

Here are five key talking points from the game...

1. Mustafi is a disaster wherever he plays

There was a collective gasp when the team sheets arrived with the realisation that Arsenal’s worst defender was playing at right back.

And sure enough, Mustafi did not let us down. A push in the back on Harry Kane gifted Tottenham a penalty. Kane was offside when the free kick was taken but it was still arch stupidity to make the challenge.

Incredibly, Mustafi has played there for Germany but looked vulnerable throughout, just as he does at centre half. Full backs definitely the area that Unai Emery must improve, not so much at right back as Hector Bellerin is to come back.

2. Rose the unlikely midfield enforcer

With Tottenham trailing and struggling, Mauricio Pochettino switched from a back three, went four at the back and put Danny Rose into central midfield. Yes, really.

Rose tackled, battled and made runs from midfield to get attacks going. When Spurs equalised, Rose celebrated with fists pumped as it meant the world.

You have to admire his passion, defiance - and versatility!

3. Tottenham fought to save their season

If Tottenham lost, it would have been three straight defeats and their top four place would have been in jeopardy.

But they dug in, did not play well and yet you could not argue that they were worthy of their point.

Now top four looks secure, they should reach the Champions League quarter finals - and that is a good season, trophy or not.

4. Arsenal will miss Ramsey big time

Ramsey loves playing at Wembley, he scores in FA Cup finals and against Tottenham.

You could see his passion when he celebrated his goal, wheeling away in delight. Arsenal will miss his energy, dynamism and connection with the club.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that Ramsey was anything other than a big player for Arsenal because big players score big goals in big games. He looked sad when he went off, his last ever North London derby.

5. Silverware must come to keep Kane happy

He was terrific in this game. Worked hard, made chances, was a threat and played clever lay-offs. But ultimately, Kane had nothing to show for his efforts. Rather like the story of his Spurs career so far.

His brilliant and coolly taken penalty rescued a point for Tottenham. Kane loves London derbies but he also clearly wants trophies.

Tottenham need to start getting silverware to keep their magnificent marksman happy.
