Thika Queens humiliate Soccer Queens in premier league

Two-time champions Thika Queens smashed Soccer Queens 21-0 in the Football Kenya Federation Women premier league at Thika Stadium yesterday.

Mwanahalima Adam scored eight goals with Lydia Akoth scoring six. Fauzia Omar managed four goals while Mercy Achieng, Rachael Mwema and Catherine Wangechi scored a goal apiece to anchor the former champions into a record win.

At Mumias Complex, Vihiga Queens were awarded a walkover after Mombasa Olympic failed to show up.

With the points, Vihiga Queens stretched their lead at the top of the league standing to 57 points, six points clear of Thika Queens.

Vihiga Queens will meet Vihiga Leeds in their second match of the weekend at Mumias Complex while Thika Queens will host Mathare United Women.

Trans Nzoia Falcons, who are currently enjoying their debut in the premier league, will host Eldoret Falcons at Manour Agricultural Centre grounds.

Under former Harambee Starlets coach Justine Okiring, Trans Nzoia Falcons seek to pile pressure on the top two teams, Vihiga Queens and Thika Queens, after managing 44 points to tie in third place place in the table standings.

Eldoret Falcons lie in fourth place with 41 points with both teams having played 19 matches each.
