It was pomp and colour as the 18-team league ended at Mbaraki Sports Club where Bandari Youth beat Wanderers 4-2 in their final match.

They topped the league with 89 points while Wananyuki and Omax bagged 76 and 65 points to settle for second and third positions respectively.

As a result, the three top finishers have been promoted to the upper South Coast league. As Bandari Youth, Wananyuki and Omax celebrated their promotion, Miritini  Warriors, Bamburi United and Eleven Stars watched in tears as they were relegated to the lower Mombasa Division One league.

However, it was celebrations in Division One league after Boca Juniors won the league to earn promotion to Mombasa Premier League. Juniors won the league with 44 points, with Berlini and Redemption tying at 41 points but the former emerged second on superior goal difference.

Miritini Youngsters, Spartan Moons and Shikaadabu were relegated to Division Two league. Manchester were crowned Division Two champions with 47 points and promoted to Division One. Allidina Sea Eagles and Port Reitz had 45 and 41 points to finish second and third respectively.

Meanwhile, Mombasa Youth league was to end yesterday at Mbaraki Sports Club. Goodhope and Real Juniors were to play in the under 13 final while under 15 was a Likoni derby where Gazab were to meet Migombani. Boca Juniors and Mwamlai were to clash in the Under-17 final.

At the same time, FKF Mombasa sub-branch chairman Ally Goshi said they would stage a big party for all the winners. “We intend to have more competitive leagues next season,” said Goshi.
