Everton still interested in Rooney return

Everton remain interested in bringing Wayne Rooney back to Goodison Park this summer.

Rooney found his game time limited at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho last season, but sparked rumours that he was set to stay at Old Trafford as he featured in the club’s promotional snaps of their new home kit.

However, the 31-year-old is still expected to leave and a move back to the Toffees could be on the cards 13 years after he left to join United for £30 million.

Everton have also been linked with moves for Olivier Giroud and Gylfi Sigurdsson, and are expected to complete the signing of Burnley defender Michael Keane imminently.
