Wayne Rooney’s goal- scoring heroics will be immortalised in the Old Trafford museum, according to the Sun.

Manchester United insiders have revealed plans to open a special section devoted to the record-breaking striker’s exploits.

His fantastic goals will be shown on a rolling video screen as a major part of the display, which is set to be launched at the end of this campaign.

Various Rooney shirts, boots and memorabilia from his 13 years at the club will also feature, along with an array of photographs and clips of his finest moments.

United’s management has insisted there should be a permanent reminder of his incredible career, even if this season turns out to be his last at the club.

Rooney surpassed Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton to become the club's leading goalscorer of all time in January.

The United captain reached his remarkable tally of 250 strikes when he netted a stunning late equaliser against Stoke City in a 1-1 draw clash.
