Four Premier League stars caught up in gun horror during international duty in Nigeria

Four Premier League stars fled for their lives as a plain-clothed armed policeman opened fire at an airport.

John Obi Mikel, Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa were caught up in the drama on international duty in Nigeria.

The Nigerian team were at The Abuja international airport when a plain-clothed policeman opened fire.

A witness said: “A policeman who was trying to arrest a civilian pulled out his gun and threatened to shoot anyone interfering with his job and with temper flaring, he repeatedly fired shots into the sky.”

The Premier League stars who also included Wolves keeper Carl Ikeme and Chelsea youngster Kenneth Omeruo, were ushered out of Abuja airport.

“The Nigerian players were hurriedly ushered on to their bus and driven off as the situation escalated.” Said the witness.
