Lionel Messi says his son won't be following in his footsteps

Leo Messi's son 'doesn't like football'

Argentine captain, Lionel Messi has said that his son Thiago has very little interest in football.

However, if we are to take the word of his famous father, it appears Thiago is not showing positive signs to follow in the Barcelona superstar's illustrious footsteps.

"I see that he doesn't like football that much so I leave it," Messi told Argentinian TV in an interview with Argentine comedy figure Mingo.

"I'm not the type to buy him footballs or force him. [But] Now the club has started something for the children and we'll see if he gets hooked."

Messi went on to say his first-born has inherited something from him though, "He wants to win at everything. I also like to win so I don't let him. Even when we climb the stairs and he wins, he makes sure to tell me."
