Arsene Wenger is ready to let Jack Wilshere go out on loan in an effort to kick-start his career.

Wilshere has held crunch talks with Arsenal and expressed his fears about a lack of playing time which resulted in him being axed from the England squad.

Gunners boss Wenger still sees Wilshere as central to his long-term plans but is considering loaning him out to help him get regular games and get back to his best.

It is certain to alert a host of top Premier League clubs although Arsenal are unlikely to sanction a move to a top four rival.

That could open the door to a move abroad with Italy and Spain potential options. It is understood that Valencia made an effort to sign him on loan last season when Gary Neville was in charge of the club.

Wilshere, 24, has played just 37 minutes as a substitute this season and struggled to get back into the team last season after missing most of the campaign with a broken leg.

England midfielder Wilshere did go to the Euros but was not fully fit and is now concerned about a lack of opportunities after £30million signing Granit Xhaka pushed him further down the pecking order.

It is still not certain that Arsenal will do a deal in time or find the right offer with Wednesday’s 11pm transfer deadline looming.

But the intention is there with the loan being actively discussed between Arsenal, Wilshere and the player’s advisers. Wilshere has two years left on his current contract and there is no suggestion of a permanent move.

Arsenal are also ready to loan out Calum Chambers with Middlesbrough hoping to sign the 21-year-old on a year-long deal.

Chambers has had offers from Roma, Valencia, Espanyol and other Premier League clubs but Arsenal are keen for him to go to another English team and play centre back regularly to help his progression.
