Borussia Dortmund targeting Karim Bellarabi to “replace” Man United target Mkhitaryan

Borussia Dortmund are preparing for life without Manchester United target Henrikh Mkhitaryan by moving for Bayer Leverkusen forward Karim Bellarabi.

United have already had two bids rejected for Mkhitaryan but remain convinced that they can strike a deal for the goalscoring Armenian who has just a year left on his contract.

Dortmund , meanwhile, have already had a £29.2million bid rejected for Bellarabi.

Leverkusen sporting director, Rudi Voller, said: “There was an official request from Dortmund a few days ago, but it was instantly rejected.

“To sell Karim is not an option for us at Leverkusen. He is definitely staying, he is not for sale.”

Mkhitaryan – who scored 11 goals in 31 League games and was named Bundesliga Players’ player of the season with fifteen assists - fancies a switch to Old Trafford.

The deal would cost United around £28m, and the Armenia international agent's Mino Raiola is determined to make it happen.
