Fergie picks his player of the year and manchester united fans will not like it

Tommy Carroll of Tottenham Hotspur is challenged by Ngolo Kante of Leicester City during the Emirates FA Cup third round match

It's that time of the year again when YOU get to decide the player who has impressed you most during the season

Sir Alex Ferguson reckons N’Golo Kante has been the best player this season.

Sam Allardyce has gone for Jamie Vardy.

But who do you think has been the Premier League Player of the Year?

Ferguson, who led Manchester United to 13 Premier League titles, nominated midfield dynamo Kante as the best player he has seen in England this term “by a long way”.

And veteran boss Sam Allardyce agreed it has to be a Leicester player, but opted for England striker Vardy.

He said: “His goal return, and his game, is absolutely at the top level now.

“But also because of the route he has taken to get there. We concentrate on the numbers at the top of the game, but he has come from down there. He has worked his way up.

“He has had the setbacks and problems. Early on perhaps he was held back by disciplinary problems, but he has learned, and put it all together.

“He has come from a place, and along a route, that we forget about now. I’d like to see more doing it that way. Because when you come from where he has and you get to the top you are a hungrier player.

“Some of the things he does now is top level. He’d deserve it.”
