Valdes left out of Man United's Champions League squad

Victor Valdes was again conspicuous by his absence as Manchester United announced their Champions League squad for this month’s play-off against Club Brugge.

United want to sell Valdes, 33, whose relationship has broken down irrevocably with manager Louis van Gaal. The Spaniard has not even received a squad number for this season and appears to be fifth-choice goalkeeper at the club, report the Manchester Evening News.

David de Gea was not considered for selection at the weekend against Tottenham but is in the 28-man squad.
