Gymkhana clash with Mombasa Sports Club

Two former champions Coast Gymkhana and Mombasa Sports Club clash today as the Coast NIC Bank T20 cricket tournament enters the fourth week.

Defending champions Coast Gymkhana Sports Club, who registered their first win this season, will host Mombasa Sports Club tomorrow.

The match is expected to be a thriller as Mombasa Sports Club are out to maintain their unbeaten run while Coast Gymkhana seek to extend their winning ways.

Burhania play Pakistan cricketers today while Jaffery Sports Club meet Mombasa Simba tomorrow.

Coast Gymkhana won their first match of the season last week when they defeated former Coast cricket champions Jaffery Sports Club by eight wickets.

Jaffery scored 218 runs with Alex Obanda and Navid Abbass bagging 151 and 40 runs respectively.

Coast Gymkhana hit 223 runs with man-of-the-match Gurjeet Singh bagging 78 runs (not out). Singh had two wickets for 43 runs. Peter Kituku and Kshitij Patel had 50 and 49 runs.

In another match at the same venue, Burhani Sports Club were awarded a walkover after Jaffery Sports Club failed to raise a team for their second match.

At Mombasa Sports Club, Shree Cutchi Leva Patel Samaj dismissed Pakistani cricketers by 25 runs.

Shree set a target of 163, which Pakistan failed to reach before ending their innings at 138 runs. Devender Sing, Morris Ouma and Sukhraj Singh bagged 42, 39 and 36 runs respectively for Shree.

Sagheer Abbas was at 36 (not out) as Jamal Ahmed added 33 more runs for the losers.

In the fourth match, Burhani bagged their second victory.

Burhani had 134 runs while Salim Jumbe scored 32 (not out). [Ernest Ndunda]
