Presidential aspirant, Peter Kenneth will, this coming weekend be among a large crowd of Kenyans living in the US who will be congregating in Las Vegas to cheer the Kenya Rugby team.

The Youthful Gatanga MP who is also an Assistant Minister of State, Planning, National Development and Vision 2030 will be joining thousands of Rugby fans who will be traveling from far and wide to be part of the popular annual USA Rugby Tournament that will run from February 10- 12 in Las Vegas.

Over the years, the tournament has become an important occasion for Kenyans some of who have lived away from home for years, to express their feelings of patriotism and love for their motherland.

It’s the only occasion in the US where Black, Red, White and Green (Kenyan flag colours) trump the Red, White and Blue (US flag colours). Kenyans are known to cheer their team wildly and loudly to the amusement of their hosts, Americans.

Peter Kenneth will not only be in the US to cheer the team he says he supports and the game he says he loves. He will also be meeting his supporters in the US to update them on his campaign and what he is doing to make sure the Diaspora realize their voting rights.

He is also scheduled to address Kenyans on Sunday, February 12, 2012 All Nations Gospel Church, 9600 Pulaski Park Drive, Suite 115, Baltimore, MD 21220 at 4pm.

Though a late entrant in things Diaspora, Mr Kenneth’s favorability ratings among the Kenyan Diaspora is very high. He is currently believed to be one the leading presidential aspirants who are championing the Diaspora agenda of voting in the forthcoming elections.

He is one of the candidates who met with a team led by Peter Kerre that was in Kenya recently to lobby the government to adopt electronic voting for the Diaspora.

Other activities organised around the games will be Kenyans Connect EXPO 2012, an all day Diaspora conference to be held on Thursday just before the games start. According to the organisers, the conference will focus on engaging the Kenyan Diaspora with industry leaders in discussing opportunities that are available to the Diaspora. For the young at heart, there is also an after party planned at the Hard Rock CafÈ in Las Vegas.
