Commonwealth Games and Africa 100m champion Ferdinand Omamyala on Sunday evening failed to beat World 100m silver medalist Marvin Bracy for a second time after finishing third at the World Athletics Continental Tour, Memorial Borisa Hanžekovića meeting in Zagreb, Croatia.
Omanyala clocked 10.19 seconds to win bronze behind
German Jeremiah Azu who timed 10.14 seconds and eventual race winner Bracy from the USA who crossed first with 9.97 seconds.
Since his historic win at the Commonwealth Games in August this year, Omanyala has competed in Switzerland and Germany in World Athletics Continental tours, finishing second in both instances.
In Germany, Omanyala finished second in 10.11, losing to World 200m champion Noah Lyles in 9.95 at the 2022 ISTAF, another World Athletics Continental Silver Tour event on Sunday at Olympiastadion in Berlin.
The 26-year-old last dipped below the 10 seconds mark in June as he triumphed in Mauritius to be crowned Africa's finest at the Afrian Championships where he clocked 9.93 ahead of Akani Simbine of South Africa.
