Kenyan will present at least a higher of athletes doubling events at the 18th World Athletics Championships that run in Eugene, USA, next week on Friday.
As it's always the case in previous editions, one athlete in the contingent would compete in two races. But the script is different US bound squad.
Three athletes in world 5,000m champion Hellen Obiri and world 5,000m silver medalist Margaret Chelimo will compete in 5,000m and 10,000m while Olympic 800m champion Emmanuel Korir will line up the two-lap race and 400m.
Mary Moraa, the fast rising 800m sensation, also made it in 400m.
Elsewhere, Cheptegei to anchor Ugandan squad
Olympic champion and world record holder Joshua Cheptegei will lead 17 Ugandan team to World Athletics Championships.
Ugandan team, which has pitched tent at Kapchorwa camp, features Olympic 10,000m bronze medalist Jacob Kiplimo, Olympic 3,000m steeplechase champion Peruth Chemutai, world 800m champion Halimah Nakaayi and 2014 Commonwelth Games 800m bronze medalist Winnie Nanyondo (1500m). Cheptegei, who trains under Dutchman Jos Hermens of Global Sports Communication based in Nijmegen, will compete in 5,000m and 10,000m.
It will be interesting to watch Cheptegei, Kiplimo and Chemutai take on Kenyans and fellow Global Sports Communcations teams at the global showpiece.
