The race began at the Kamonjil Power Station along the Lessos-Himaki highway, before athletes crossed the Chebarbar River. They then climbed the strenuous but exciting Chebarbar Hill, descended into Kapsabet town before finishing at Namgoi Secondary school.

“Rediscover Nandi is a great event where fresh and established talent come together to compete; I am happy with this victory,” said Tirop.

In the men’s race, Isaac Lelei won in a time of 30:30. Hillary Kering was second in 30:37, while Emmanuel Bor was third in 30:49.

Chief race organiser Fred Kiptanui said this year’s event saw athletes give their best.
