Kenya's Peres Jepchirchir wins the Women's Elite 2016 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Cardiff, Wales, Saturday March 26, 2016.

It is no doubt that Kenyans are gradually stamping their authority in road races and marathons in various cities in Canada.

Barely a month after Winnie Chebet won the Toronto 10km Marathon, three Kenyans made the country proud at the two-day Ottawa Marathon and Race Weekend, whose activities concluded on Sunday night.

Peres Jepchirchir braved the sweltering heat in Ottawa, to win in 31:28.9. The Ottawa 10km is the only IAAF Gold Label 10km event in Canada and one of only four IAAF Gold Label 10km races in the world. Ethiopian Mamitu Daska finished second in 32:07.7.
