Mesut Ozil's agent has denied his client is set for a move away from the Emirates and declared the German is staying with Arsenal.

The 30-year-old's future at the Gunners has been under scrutiny after missing several fixtures last month.

But Ozil returned to the Arsenal side prior to Christmas, and now looks set to remain in North London.

Speaking to Goal, Ozil's agent, Dr. Erkut Sogut, said: "I would prefer not to speak publicly about Mesut’s situation, but given the recent speculation linking him with a move away from Arsenal, I do feel it is important to provide some clarity so we can end this and focus on football.

“Mesut signed a new contract last January because he saw his future at Arsenal and nothing has changed in his mind.

"He wants to stay for the duration of that contract and maybe even longer. Mesut is 100 per cent committed to Arsenal Football Club."

Ozil became the top earner at the Emirates, on a reported £350k per week contract, when he signed his contract extension at the club.

Sogut stated that money is not the motivation for Ozil to stay at Arsenal however, revealing that he represented both the player and the club when his client signed his latest deal with the Gunners.

The midfielder had seemingly fallen out of favour with Emery back in November, but returned to the side for a run of games in December.

Ozil has since been recovering from a knee injury, which kept him out of the 5-1 defeat to Liverpool and the 4-1 win over Fulham.
