High-adrenaline action continues at the Nairobi Polo Club.

Samurai beat Samsung 7.5-5 at the Kenya Polo 12-goal tournament at Nairobi Polo Club in Jamhuri on Friday.

Nairobi Polo Club captain Rafael Nzomo and South African international Brad MacGibbon led Samurai to victory as they impressed in both ends of the pitch.

Samurai, who started the game with a fraction advantage, earned their opening goal in the third minute of the first chukka through Craig Millar, handicap three, before Nzomo’s two minutes later.

MacGibbon, who is known for his defensive play, added the third goal for Samurai. He turns up for his Club Otto Bluffs at home and runs a coal mining business in the eastern part of Johannesburg.

Duncan Watson, the South African five-goal scorer, pulled back two goals for Samurai before the end of the chukka.

The 25-year-old Watson, handicap five, has huge experience in polo having picked the sport while aged 10.

The second chukka was a bit challenging for Samsung as Samurai charges contained Watson, who was their marksman. Samsung were unable to score goals while Archie Voorspuy scored for Samurai taking their tally to 4.5-2.

Samurai exhibited brilliance in the third chukka with a brace from Voorspuy and a goal from MacGibbon to widen the gap to 7.5-3. Mimi Trappe scored the Samsung’s goal.
