Muhoroni Youth coach Gilbert Selebwa is headed to his former club AFC Leopards, but this time as a team manager.

Eight years after leaving AFC Leopards, Selebwa is returning to the Den after only three matches in charge at Muhoroni Youth.

Moses Adagala, the Muhoroni Youth chairman, said they were in receipt of his termination letter, which did not state reasons for his (Selebwa) departure, but claimed that they were aware he was returning to the Leopards.

“We are in receipt of his letter requesting us to terminate his services. We have heard rumours that he has been appointed as the team manager of his former side, AFC Leopards,” said Mr Adagala

Adagala added: “Since he is a grown-up who knows what’s best for him, we will allow him to leave but he will have to pay us for failing to honour his terms of employment.”

The Muhoroni Youth chair said that they will ask the league body, (Kenya Premier League) to compel Selebwa to pay the team for cutting short his contractual terms.

“There are laws that govern football in the country. When one breaks the laws, there is a price to pay. We will seek legal means to make Selebwa honour the contractual terms that he has with the club,” Adagala explained.

Selebwa, a Former Supper Sport Soccer analyst, did not in his letter of termination of service divulge details that led to his parting ways with the club but acknowledged that Muhoroni’s management accepted his resignation request.

Former Coach and current assistant of Muhoroni Youth, James “Odijo” Omondi will take charge of Muhoroni.
