Women league resumes as top sides seek crucial points.

Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League resumes today after a two-week break with eight matches on the cards in different venues across the country.

Four matches are lined up in each zone. In Zone B, the highlight will be the match pitting last season’s runner’s up Vihiga Queens against Wadadia at Mumias Complex from 1pm.

This will be a huge test for the Alex Alumira-coached Queens who are yet to taste defeat this season.

Queens are the top goals scorers so far this season with 25 goals from four games and have conceded only once.

Wadadia will not be pushovers considering they forced a 3-3 draw against Oserian Ladies in Naivasha in their last league match.

Alumira knows what awaits his charges is optimistic saying that his side will continue with the fine run this season hoping to pick a play-off position by the end of the season.

“We have prepared well and we know the way Wadadia play.

We will play our usual game of attacking from the first whistle,” said Alumira.

In another match, Eldoret Falcons will welcome Oserian Ladies at Kipchoge Keino Stadium from 1pm.

Falcons are yet to register a win this and this will be a tricky match for the Joshua-Ariko coached side as they face free-scoring Oserian who are also unbeaten.

Newbies Palos Ladies will be seeking a second win of the season as they welcome Vihiga Leeds at Moi Stadium, Kisumu from 1pm.

A match pitting relegation-threatened Nyamira Starlets and Bulemia that was set for Busia Polytechnic Grounds has been rescheduled.

Nyamira has played a single match this season and given out two walkovers.

In Zone A, newbies Kayole Starlet will be home to Mombasa-based Spedag at MYSA, Komarock Grounds from 1 pm.

This will be a crucial fixture for both sides as they seek a second win of the season.

Spedag, which draw most of their players from the national women football team, Harambee Starlets has had poor campaign in the 2017 season after winning a single match from four encounters.

The young Kayole Starlet side will surely be keen to test themselves against the experienced Spedag led by national team players including striker Sharon Bushenei.
