Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) has revised fixtures for the third leg of the National League/Amaco International tournament scheduled for Eldoret on June 14-16.

The changes will see more matches played than it was previously planned.

According to National Sports Organising Secretary Ishmael Chege, the changes are meant to ensure league ends on time.

He said: “Due to hosting of two international Championships in July and September, we are forced to play more matches than usual lest the league will not end on time,” he said.

The revised program has seen the number of matches increase from 13 to 20.

Chege confirmed that the women’s category remains unchanged with eight matches planned for the day.

Meanwhile, Blue Triangle tops the national league table standings after the first two rounds of the competition.

Triangle is perched at the top of the table with nine points off three matches. They have played four fixtures, won three and lost one.

The league leaders are handled by National men’s team coach Sammy Kirongo. General Service Unit (GSU) who are unbeaten on two matches are placed second on maximum six points.

National champions Kenya prisons occupy third position with six points followed by Forest Rangers who have also bagged same number of points.

GSU, Prisons and Rangers are on level with six points apiece but a better ration places the paramilitary men ahead of the rest.

Newcomers are fighting hard to keep pace with frontrunners but they are placed seventh with three points same as eight-placed Stima Nyeri and Oserian.
