Njoro Police on the spot for shooting an unarmed man

Police officers in Njoro are on the spot after shooting an unarmed man who was earlier on involved in a domestic disagreement with his wife.

25-year-old Vincent Ng’ang’a who is also a boda-boda operator was allegedly shot by police officers based at Naishi Police Station to whom his wife had reported him for confiscating his phone.

Speaking to members of the fourth estate, Ng’ang’a accused his wife of having extra-marital affairs with a local politician’s assistant.

The father of three said that four people unknown to him and one of them in police uniform nearly ran him over in a Probox vehicle.

The four paid him a visit at his working area before they alighted and attempted to confront him.

It was at this point that the uniformed police officer whipped out a pistol forcing Ng'ang'a to flee from the scene as he was shot at four times.

One bullet got him centimeters below his left knee and is currently admitted at Nakuru level five hospital awaiting surgery.

Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya said that investigations in to the incident is underway.
