A section of leaders from the county have hailed the government for appointing members of the Maa community to various positions in parastatals.
Led by Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko, the leaders said the appointments by President Uhuru Kenyatta shows the trust the government has in the Maa community.
On Friday, Kenyatta appointed former Kajiado County Senator Peter ole Mositet to chair the board of Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority.
Politician Peter ole Musei was also appointed as chair of Consolidated Bank board. Mositet thanked the president for the appointment and said he is committed to ensure State policies are implemented to the letter.
Another politician, Alex ole Magelo, was appointed a member Kenya Leather Development Council board.

We want to thank the president for the honour he has bestowed upon the Maa community,’’ Tobiko said.
Mositet added that he has received many congratulatory messages from friends after his appointment which was announced through a gazette notice on August 7, 2020.
