Personal Assistant to a Nakuru MP arrested after defiling a 14-year old girl in a toilet

Police are holding a 40-year-old man accused of defiling a 14-year-old girl in a toilet at Bondeni slum, Nakuru town.

The man, an aide to a Nakuru legislator, is said to have defiled the Form Two student on July 30.

The man reportedly lured the victim by giving her Sh100.

“The victim’s elder sister caught him in the act," said the girl's uncle, who also added that the suspect has been preying on the minor, from the time schools were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Charged locals roughed up the suspect and frogmarched him to Bondeni police station where he is being held.

The girl was taken to Nairobi Women’s Hospital where she was treated and discharged.

The suspect’s wife had gone to the market, while the minor’s parents had gone to work in Nakuru town.

Nakuru Town East deputy police commander Phanton Analo said they were investigating the matter.

Analo said the victim and witnesses had recorded statements with the police. “We arrested the suspect and we are conducting investigations. He will be arraigned in court soon," he said.

Sexual assault among minors is on the rise, according to police records.
