By Silah Koskei | March 15th 2015 at 00:00:00 GMT +0300

Eldoret, Kenya: After weeks of intensive search, the body of ICC witness Meshack Yebei finally landed at the Eldoret International Airport in his Uasin Gishu home county Saturday afternoon.

It was an emotional scene as mourners, led by his wife Lilian Yebei, and mother Priscillah Kisorio, among a host of friends, formally received the body, which was airlifted from Mombasa aboard a commercial plane, after an autopsy at the Voi Moi Referral Hospital.

"It has been a painful journey since he disappeared on December 28, 2014, but we are now ready give him a decent send-off," said Rebbeca Yebei, the deceased elder sister.

Moses Kisorio, who accompanied the remains of his brother said they will bury him on March 21, at Kaptebee village in Turbo Constituency.

Yebei's wife said that though the reality of losing his husband is painful, she was peaceful that his body has been found.
