Shish: My style is É
Shirleen Wangare aka Shish of Tahidi High TV programme spoke to Crystal Okusa on her style.
My style isÉ
Casual dresses; both mini and maxi dresses depending on the occasion. However, I cannot wear the bright coloured dresses.
Which colours are you bound to wear?
I lean towards black most of the time. I don’t like the attention brought by wearing bright coloured outfits.
What fashion tip works for you?
Wearing something black will always give me a classic look and using eye-liner to define my eyes.
As an actress, what fashion era would you emulate?
The era of kings and queens, when ladies dressed in long, flowing, ball-gowns with corsets and pinned up hair. In this modern era, I don’t think we take fashion to its detail as required.
Who is the most stylish man in the entertainment industry?
Redsan. Although I haven’t met him in person, I like the way he dresses in his music videos.
I looked my worst when I É
Dressed up for last year’s Kisima Awards. My girls and I took the time to buy new dresses and very high heels and even went to the salon before going for the event, only to get to the venue and a good number of people were wearing jeans and loafers. We really felt out of place.
Am different from other chicks asÉ
I can dress in complete black outfit from Monday to Monday, while most people would have run out of full black clothes to wear by then.
My fashion weakness isÉ
Shopping for black dresses and black tops. (chuckles) I find it hard to wear anything else unless of course it has black on it.
A look I would like to try isÉ.
Keri Hilson’s style of baggy jeans, timberland boots, suspenders and a tank top. I have found the jeans and top but still looking for the right timberland boots and suspenders.
Catch me dead wearingÉ.
Kenya uniform. This is anything found on Moi Avenue stalls whereby you can’t walk two metres before meeting someone else wearing the same outfit.
If it is not expensive, I do without it. I like wearing expensive jewellery and perfume. If I cannot afford one then I simply do not wear it. Unless it is African jewellery as they are more affordable
Wear what you are comfortable in you don’t have to have the same fashion sense as the next person.
