Point blank with Tony Gachoka: Nairobi is the most dysfunctional county

The truth in 60 minutes.

And just like the name suggests, the newly launched political show, Point Blank with Tony Gachoka is well ‘above board.’

In his interview with Reform Strategist Professor Peter Kagwanja that aired on KTN News last night, political commentator Tony Gachoka queried accountability of State officers while delivering their mandate.

Known not to mince his words, Gachoka said, “I have a problem with the President on one issue and that issue is called Mike Mbuvi Sonko.”

He further went on to add that the Nairobi County government is one of the most “dysfunctional county in the history of devolution. Why can’t the President use the opportunity of the Handshake to have Sonko impeached?” Gachoka poses, perhaps looking to derive emotion and an even deeper conversation among Kenyans.

To which Prof Kagwanja calmly answers, “Nairobi is the acid test for Kenya in many ways. Therefore, as we think about re-engineering Kenya and the Constitution, let us also re-engineer Nairobi in a way that it will no longer be part of the political dysfunctionality.

In the first episode, Tony Gachoka tackles key issues among them governance, the Wiper Party internal differences and discussions around the Post Uhuru Kenyatta era.

The show is geared at confronting a host of hard issues and looking beyond the headlines.

Gachoka said the show will look at what is going on in the society, what is being planned and even that which is being disregarded.
