Amani National Congress tells off Kalonzo Musyoka over remarks

\CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka's challenge to Musalia Mudavadi to "get out of the comfort zone" has triggered angry reactions from Mr Mudavadi's allies.

The Amani National Congress (ANC) told off Mr Kalonzo over criticism targeting their party leader during a requiem mass for slain businessman Jacob Juma in Nairobi yesterday.

ANC, through its Secretary General Godfrey Osotsi, said the former vice-president should be the last person to lecture Mudavadi over joining hands with "progressive forces".

ANC said Kalonzo has a tainted past full of betrayal, and should desist from "rubbing off his traitor stench on Mudavadi to cleanse himself".

Kalonzo had told ANC party leader to cut links the Jubilee coalition.

"If you are going to be serious about saying no to political assassinations, I want to call on my brother Musalia Mudavadi to renounce that relationship (with Jubilee). Get out of the comfort zone," he said.

Mr Osotsi said Kalonzo was ill-advised to pour out his personal vendetta against the former deputy premier during such a solemn function.

"It was shocking when Musyoka, totally unprovoked, stood and goaded Amani National Congress (ANC) Leader Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi to publicly declare at Uhuru Park that he had severed links with the Jubilee administration," said Osotsi.

The party said Mudavadi ignored Kalonzo since he knew "those were the words of a misguided man".
