Ongoro woos Central ODM delegates

Orange Democratic Party Secretary General candidate Elizabeth Ongoro has moved to Central Kenya to woo delegates from the region to support her candidature.

Ms Ongoro, a nominated ODM Senator met with county and sub-county chairmen from five counties (Muranga, Kiambu, Nyeri, Kirinyaga and Nyandarua) at a resort along Kiambu road.

Ongoro who is battling it out for the position with Agnes Zani  and Budalangi MP  Ababu Namwamba asked the chairmen to sell her bid in their respective areas.

“I know the region has been neglected by the party because its not regarded as our stronghold but if am elected, I will ensure central region is treated equal with other regions in the country,”  she said.

Central region delegates were the first group she met after returning her nomination papers, noting that in Nairobi, she has secured much support even from elected leaders.

If elected, she vowed to ensure positions are shared equaly witheach region getting three positions each.
