The search for a missing activist came to a sad end when her body was found dumped at the City Mortuary.

The body of the founder member of Dandora Community Justice Centre, Caroline Mwatha Ochieng who has been reported missing since February 6 had been booked at the mortuary under a different name. two suspects- a doctor and owner of a clinic are under arrest.

Police say investigations have shown that Mwatha was at the clinic where she had sought unspecified medical services before her body was taken to the mortuary.

Police Spokesman Charles Owino says the DCI is finalizing investigations before the two are charged over the death.

Her family and friends had said Caroline had not been seen since Wednesday morning when she left her house to run errands in the city.

“We have searched various places including courts, police stations and even mortuaries in vain. The search is ongoing,” said a friend Wilfred Olal.

Her mobile phone has been on and off and efforts by her friends to establish her whereabouts have proved futile.

The issue was reported to Dandora Police Station (OB 65/08/02/19).
