NAIROBI: Dagoretti North MP Dennis Waweru wants Governor Evans Kidero to consult elected leaders in addressing the housing problems in the city. Saying there are many challenges facing Nairobi residents, the MP said it will be imperative for the governor to consult elected leaders. "Even as Dr Kidero works towards improving the city, he should consult all elected leaders on the projects," he said. Mr Waweru who has shown interest in the gubernatorial seat come 2017, accused the county government of charging Nairobians high rates. He said small traders within the city have borne the brunt of the city 'askaris' who handle them inappropriately. According to Waweru, the acts of the city 'askaris' are brutal and inhuman and cannot be let to continue if Kidero values the residents. But in a rejoinder, Kidero told off Waweru and asked him to visit his office for consultations and not address issues in public rallies.
