The bathroom is one of the smallest rooms in most home floor plans yet it is vital. This is the place where we let off all our exhaustion at the end of the day as we relax and rejuvenate under a stream of water.
These tiny rooms are tasked with so many essential items from shavers, hair driers, creams, lotions, soaps, towels, toilet paper rolls and much more. No matter how small your bathroom is, you can find ways to maximise every inch of space.
Hang extra chrome pipe holders
You will only get one towel bar in your bathroom if you are lucky. To create a towel zone for other towels, install chrome pipes behind the bathroom door or on an isolated strip of wall.
Wicker/ woven baskets
These are common on roadsides with weaving workshops. You might have to place an order for a size that you need or buy any size that works with your space. The will neatly hold all the toilet paper rolls or all the clean hand towels. You can also keep smaller bathroom items like dry soap, magazines, bottled creams and lotions in them. You can stack them into a cabinet, an open shelf or underneath your toilet sink.
Camouflaged medicine cabinet
Medicine bottles for the entire family pile up really fast. Organise your stash of meds in a concealed medicine cabinet. Have the cabinets fitted with mirrors on the front side and opening into wall mounted medicine cabinets.
Under the sink storage
The space under the sink should be utilised. Use a tiered shelf to organise most products that you use frequently. You can also arrange compact storage boxes with lids to keep items that you rarely use.
Open shelving
Install open shelving on your bathroom wall. This is an easy process that will take about 10 minutes. Use these to display and organise smaller items that are pleasing to look at. Items such as body creams, lotion, colognes and decorative pieces should be here.
