Governor Francis Kimemia drops nine county executives

Governor Francis Kimemia has dropped nine executives who served in former Governor Daniel Waithaka’s administration.

Mr Kimemia however retained Peter Mbugua in the Health docket.

He nominated 34-year-old Dominic Ngugi to head the Youth, Sports and Arts docket and Mwangi Kariuki for Public Administration and ICT.

Faith Wanjiru was nominated to the Education, Gender, Culture and Social Services slot while Stephen Mbugua was picked to head the Transport, Energy and Public Works department.

Others are James Ngandu for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Simon Mwangi for Water, Environment, Tourism and Natural Resources and Rose Muthoni for Industrialisation, Trade and Co-operatives.

Lawrence Mukundi was nominated to head the Lands, Housing and Physical Planning department, while Mary Mugwanja will be in charge of Finance and Economic Planning. Hiram Mwangi Kahiro was nominated for the position of County Secretary.

The Nyandarua County Public Appointments (County Assembly Approval) Act, 2017 provides that a notification of nomination shall be accompanied by information on the procedure used to arrive at the nominees, candidates’ academic credentials, professional training and experience, personal integrity and background among other requirements.

The list was presented to County Assembly Speaker Ndegwa Wahome yesterday who in his communication said the governor did not submit the documents as required under section six of the Act.
